INDIAN RED CROSS BLOOD BANK

Blood Bank

The Indian Red Cross is a pioneer in the field of blood services and one of the largest voluntary blood banks in India since 1962. IRCS regularly conducts motivational campaigns to organize Voluntary Blood Donation Camps. It has more than 100 blood banks all over the country under different states and district branches. Singrauli District, despite of being a huge industrial city facing high incidence of accidents and other health hazards, is facing acute scarcity of Blood. This is a very remote place and any patient in need of blood in emergency faces difficulty in procuring blood. This is particularly important in cases of pregnant women who have to undergo caesarean operation for delivery and hence has an impact on MMR also. To overcome this situation, IRCS, District Branch Singrauli has taken initiative for starting a Blood Bank in the district which is being setup at NTPC Hospital, Vindhyanagar with the active support and financial help from NTPC, Zila Panchayat and NCL.
